Our Commitment
FEDS is committed to operating sustainably across its EdTech and animation production businesses. This is not a general statement of intent: it is reflected in concrete, ongoing practice across the environmental, social and governance dimensions of the company’s operations, and in the design of its new flagship production, Rasa Guardians, whose core storyline is itself built around protecting cultural and culinary heritage from erasure.
Environmental Commitment
- Digital-first production and distribution — content is produced and distributed digitally (streaming, YouTube, TikTok/Shorts) rather than through physical media or broadcast infrastructure, reducing the resource footprint per viewer
- Optimised animation pipeline — a stylised, flat-colour 2D production approach reduces render time, compute load and rework compared with a heavier production pipeline
- Distributed team model — production is carried out by a Penang-based team working with a Finland-based network via online collaboration tools, reducing routine business travel relative to a centralised studio model
Social Commitment
- Local talent development — direct employment and training of Malaysian illustrators, 2D animators, motion designers and junior creatives, building skills, portfolios and industry exposure and supporting Malaysia’s animation ecosystem
- Cultural heritage preservation — Rasa Guardians is built around safeguarding authentic food traditions and the memories and communities behind them, inspired by the multicultural heritage of Penang’s UNESCO World Heritage George Town
- Children’s health and wellbeing — the series is designed to build food awareness, nutrition understanding and healthy-eating habits through entertainment, alongside FEDS’s existing “See The Good!” strengths-based learning collaboration
- Inclusive, family-oriented content — episodes are designed for cross-generational co-viewing, supporting family engagement and communication rather than solitary screen time
- Accessible education — continued delivery of FEDS’s EdTech portfolio, including strengths-based and special-education solutions (Positive, Schooltime) for children with diverse learning needs
Governance & Compliance Commitment
- Regulatory compliance — full compliance with Malaysian company law, tax and employment regulations as a registered Sdn Bhd
- Child data privacy — responsible handling of children’s data across all digital learning and content platforms
- Transparent partnerships — arm’s-length, clearly documented commercial agreements with production partners and subcontractors
- Clear IP ownership — a defined IP and licensing structure for Rasa Guardians that protects the rights of contributors, co-producers and partners
- Fair engagement of creative talent — fair-pay, transparent contracting of freelance and contract animation talent
